Immortal Forever: 3. Spotted Again

The next day was quite okay. I had befriended a few more students. They seemed to be living near me. Everyone wanted to know about North Carolina and were pretty excited when they heard about the rains
there. I sat with Erika in English. She was pretty friendly with me now.
In algebra, I was really ashamed when Mr. Thompson asked me an answer of a tricky question and I answered it wrong. In biology, we were taught about algae which I had already done and so I answered all
the questions correctly and surprised others. In PE, my team kept me out of the game as they have already experienced right on the first day about my gaming skills. I felt great because of that. I only had to sit on the
pavilion and watch others play.
After school, Peter picked me up like last day and this time, too, Megan was in the ballet studio.
"How was your day?" he asked, pulling away from school gate.
"It was better than the last day", I grinned as I stared out of the window.
He said that he had a hectic day as the he had to teach the juniors about Renaissance Era. I had been thinking to ask him one question since last night. I was too restless otherwise. I stared at him while he was driving with concentration and looking straight ahead of him. His blonde hair was gelled in spikes in front. He looked a bit exhausted. His stereo played Pink Floyd this time.
"Where did you go last night?" I asked finally , unable to keep my curiosity in me and regretted asking that.
He stared at me for a second, his face unreadable. His blue eyes sparkled.
"I was just going for a walk", he answered, looking away. Even though he tried to keep his voice as normal as possible, he sounded a bit tensed.
"A walk?" I was surprised, "At that time of the night?"
"I usually go at that time", he was calm, "I love to walk that time. Its all silent and vacant everywhere".
 "Weird", I muttered.
He didn't say anything but increased the speed.
That night, at the same time, Peter went for his 'night walk'. He looked up at my window and as he found me standing there, his expression changed to dark and he walked away fast and just vanished from my sight. I didn't understand the logic. Who walks that fast? He calls this his night walk though.Without another thought, I fell asleep.
The next morning, Peter was not there during breakfast. Megan said she won't go to the uni as she have to attend a ballet program. Mamma said that she needed to go downtown for some sort of business. Dad was out already.
"Where's Peter?" I questioned at breakfast table.
"Asleep", Megan laughed, "Door is still locked from inside".
"Mamma", I asked, "Does he goes out for night walks?"
"Yeah", she smiled, "He does it every night after dinner. Says, he feels fresh".
 "Weird he is", Megan chuckled.
 "Oh", I frowned.
"You need to hurry, Rose", Megan reminded, "Time to go to school".
I gulped down my cereal and milk and hurried in my room to change. I saw the closed door of Peter's bedroom while going. I will have to drive myself to school, I guess. As I changed into a tee and jeans and grabbed my backpack, to move out of my room, I saw Peter standing on the doorway.
"Hey", he grinned, "I need to drive you to school".
"It's okay, I can go on my own", I hurried.
"Nope", he frowned, "I'm gonna drop you. Come on".
"Why are you up so late today?" I asked him on our way to school.
"I was studying till midnight", he yawned.
"Really?" I asked. He was wearing a simple brown T-shirt and navy blue jeans. A thick silver chain hung from his neck. It had a star shaped pendant. He had his hair back brushed today. Tricks to catch a girl's attention, I thought.
 "Of course", he answered, smugly.
"I wanna go with you tonight for a night walk, you know", I giggled.
"What?" he looked tensed for a fraction of second and then he stared at me blankly.
"Nope", he said sternly, after a minute, "It's not safe for girls to roam around at nights".
"But if a tough guy like you is there with me then what's the problem?" I clutched my bag.
 "You don't understand", he scowled.
"Great", I felt like sticking my tongue at him.
We reached school, and as I was about to go out of the car, he caught my hand and pulled me in.
"What?" I shivered. He was warm. His touch made sparkles flow around me.
"Don't be upset", he smiled, "You don't look good when you're upset".
"Good to know", I frowned, "Then tell me that you're gonna take me with you for a night walk".
"Ugh!" he gave a low chuckle, "You won't let go of that topic, are you?"
 "Never", I grinned.
"Okay", he said after a minute, releasing my hand, "Now go to school. I will come to pick you at 3".
"I'll see you after school", I got out and he pulled away, without looking at me.
